Atlantic-Cape Multi-Jurisdictional Program for Public Information (MJPPI)

Currently 13 towns in Atlantic and Cape May Counties are working together and formed a MJPPI as part of FEMA’s Community Rating System (CRS) program.   The MJPPI was started in 2017 and is currently the largest MJPPI in the Nation.

The towns include:

  • Cape May City
  • Cape May Point
  • Egg Harbor Township
  • Galloway Township
  • Linwood
  • Longport
  • Margate
  • North Wildwood
  • Ocean City
  • Sea Isle City
  • Stone Harbor
  • Upper Township
  • Wildwood Crest

Each town participates in the mandatory 2  annual meetings which they discuss goals, outreach topics and priority audiences for public outreach of flooding issues that effect our towns.  We also work with several stakeholders that help the towns deliver a variety of outreach topics.

Flood Insurance Promotion

In 2020 the MJPPI introduced a Flood Insurance Promotion activity.  As part of the program each town will host an annual meeting with the public to discuss

  • when flood insurance is required to be purchased
  • elevation certificates and how they impact flood insurance rates
  • How to review your insurance declaration page to make sure your property is being rated properly

The New Jersey Resiliency Institute​
